Now may be the time to again
take up wearing "Sackcloth"

A modern day "Sackcloth" to be worn and used as in ancient Biblical days. Showing humility before God to petition for restoration to our lives, for our families, our country and the world. Show your sincerity before God and man. To be worn to honor and to show your surrender unto God.

Dictionary description for Sackcloth: A very coarse, rough fabric woven from camel’s hair, goat hair, hemp, cotton, or flax.
Garments made of this cloth are worn as a symbol of mourning or penitence.

In past times of stress when petitioners wanted to show humility, sorrow and repentance before God they put on Sackcloth. Today I am calling for a Restoration back to God through repentance. I am asking all who are called, to once again put on these garments and repent before God for ourselves and our nation. If we do repent and turn back to God, He is faithful to heal as He has promised as in His following words.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV

Our Land needs Healing!

Sackcloth in the past was made most often out of coarse, black goat’s hair. As its name indicates, it was used for sacks, but was also customarily worn by mourners or as a sign of deep repentance and humility. Ashes were often included as a further symbol of personal abhorrence and chagrin. Also, sackcloth was, and will be (in some contemporary form), in the case of the two witnesses, worn by some Prophets as reported in Revelations.

Revelation 11:3 (NIV)
And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

Time to Resurrect this practice.

Or if you prefer you can easily make your own garment. Most fabric stores carry black burlap. In over 2,000 years ago it was a practice to show great remorse. With our present times of remorse this may be time to resurrect this practice to fall on our face before God and plead for Him to answer our prayers.

While wearing during your prayer time I also recommend wearing in public. Prepare yourself to give an account for why you are grieved about the lawlessness of these times.
